Word of Wisdom: Scire

You would have to be pretty prescient to know why I chose to review the Latin root scire, “to know.” This root tends to sneak itself into quite a few scientific and methodical words. Just to name a few:

Conscientious- Thorough
Conscious- Aware; awake
Omniscient- All-knowing
Prescient- Having foresight
Sci
ence- The study of the natural world
Sciolism- Meaningless/false knowledge
